Despite not really feeling much like talking, thanks to ugly reactions to increasing pollen values and the aftereffects of spending quite a long time projecting much more loudly and longer than is my want at the Gaming Marathon, I've assembled the podcast for this week and sent it on up to Archive for storage. I expect that to come to fruition in the next 24hrs or so.

The funny thing is that this one might, in fact, been my easiest recorded and best sounding cast because I'm out of sorts.

  • Voice restricted in volume, so fewer pops and swings between high and low, making a normalization pass actually help smooth it around
  • Not overthinking what I'm saying to the mic, just talking, making the rhythm far more fluid and closer to my usual cadence (which is, unfortunately, a bit too William Shatner for my own good)
  • Letting the music do the talking, thanks to a disinterest in actually doing too much talking with a sore throat

I'm liking it.

There will, of course, be the usual post to the Redoubtcast feed (and I encourage you all to vote every week on Podcast Alley, yadda yadda), once the file is up on Archive. The deep insiders know where it can be fetched via http from my server's staging area, but ... hey, if you don't subscribe to my feed, I don't get numbers to brag about. That's a bad thing.

Anyway, this week's cast is a little bit unusual, and I'll leave it until the post goes up to let anyone know the theme, but I can tell you to get out the milk gravy.

Or at least they login.

Just a reminder, tonight is Horde Night, on the Scarlet Crusade server. Come join Superliat and friends in the Crossroads for the ongoing weekly insanity of trying to complete the maddening quests that are outstanding there. Start times are inconsistent, to put it gently, but don't let that stop you.

  • Watch in awe as I try to learn to enjoy playing a Mage!
  • Shudder in horror as tryptophanHeather fails to fight the compulsion to skin every dead thing that falls, even humanoids!
  • Wonder with the crowd about whether point5bEric the .5b will actually catch up in levels and feed his vampire bat!
  • Stand awe-struck at the glowy nimbus at stellabambinoMike's command!

You can't let the glory of this opportunity pass. Tune in, for another episode of As Kalmidor Turns.

you're probably a bit obsessive. Don't worry,
you'll make a good engineer.

What is your ancient civilization?

I'm actually really, really pleased by this one, in fact. I adore the Mayan (and Aztec) culture, to the point of sitting down and almost starting to learn the language, at one point (before I realized I have absolutely no faculty with human language).

If I don't make a Spirit Warrior Empire reference here, I'll hate myself.
