Or at least I finished plodding through it.
The good news is the book gets better as it goes. The last chapter on constructing your own Ascension is almost good. It's certainly coherent. And the Devolution of the Nephandi really is a rather keen bit of kit as far as plot presentation goes. Like the better parts of Apocalypse, the PCs fit in believably, or at least comprehensibly.
Overall, though, this book just has too many flaws to accept lightly. I'm giving it a C-, and that's only out of the goodness of my black heart.

Inspiring is what you are, Air Dragon, with insight
and vitality to spare. You are a bolt of
lightning to the psyche, a freshness for the
intellect, and someone who needs to be treated
with respect. Use your insight wisely, and you
shall be rewarded, for you are the Messenger of
the Sky God.
