Just a quick note to say I'm still alive, even if my ears are ringing as if I should be screaming "Sanctuary!" at the top of Notre Dame and I only managed 4.5h sleep (mainly because unwinding is not a verb associated with me in any way).
I took a few notes on the show last night and fully intend to turn it into a long, complicated review of the acts that played, but up- front, let me mention that sound board operation, specifically overall sound-leveling, can make or break an act, and if a band is just too loud for the venue environment, I consider it the responsibility of the guy at the venue's board to make sure the levels are right for the audience. If that means telling the band to drop their stacks so the music's at a tolerable decibel level, then so be it.
[rubs his eyes] Man, I'm so tired and beat, but -- the body's cycle cannot be denied. Let's hope there's a nap on the couch later tonight or I'm a dead squid.

I suppose this would be a lot more poignantly funny if it weren't happening every day, or effectively to have happened to me. After all, I trained both after-hours tech folks who were promoted over me. There's just something a little humiliating about that, and no doubt it contributes to my general feeling of "fuck you" when it comes to HP.
I am 84% Evil Genius
I am pure evil. I lie awake at night devising schemes of world domination, and I will not rest until all living souls bend to my will.

You know what? I'm not even stopping with the living souls. All souls, regardless of metabolic state, will bow and grovel before my might and the terror of Oblivion at my left hand, until my amusement is such I give them the sweet release of the Void.
No, I'm not grumpy. Why do you ask?

What Tori Amos Song are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
You've just got to wonder about Tori. The girl has issues, volumes, entire encyclopaedic collections. And she never seems to get over them. Is, in fact, Tori Amos the poster girl for "being a pathetic wretch who ultimately can't get on with her life?"
I'll be out at Taste of Athens tonight, gorging on the finest food the city has to offer. I don't expect to see many/any of my readership there (save
stellabambino and
sutilisfatalis who, as Minions, are legally obligated to attend and serve), but -- hey, you never know.
If you see a short, squiddy daemoniac thing attended by a tall long-haired freak and a busty tattoo'd girl, that's me. Not the girl, the squid. Right.
