Isn't technology wonderful? Now, anyone that wants to target nuclear weapons at my home is more than well equipped to do so.
Its actually fairly amazing the amount of online satelite image data that's available for free; you can do boatloads of wonderful stuff without requiring a single dime. If you are willing to drop a dime on the problem, you can get much neater, more up to date orbital pictures, where 1 pixel == 1 metre is not only easy, but cheap. Back in the 50's, military planners would have killed for the access every single American on Earth has to vast reams of data -- which go completely unused.
Tiles: In case anyone was curious, yes, I ended up purchasing Samurai. Anyone that wants to throw down some tiles sometime, let me know. |
