Elvis Lives: Well, OK, not Elvis per se, but Pressley Aaron, Raven Shaman Cop, my ShadowRun character, is finally complete. I'd forgotten what an absolute stone bitch doing chargen is in SR. You literally have to go through the whole 300+ page book from front to back to complete a simple character. It borders on nightmarish, frankly -- there are no nice, near summaries or helpful tables. I'm rather annoyed by the process -- but I'm very proud of the results. I think its one of my better characters.

Eat Me: Looks like Germany has a little problem with cannibalism. Not that I'm against cannibalism, anyone that knows me, knows that I firmly believe that the eating of human flesh is, at worst, a lifestyle choice. I don't care what you do with your mouth, so long as it ain't on me. So, cannibals of the world, you've got my boost!

AD&D Sucks!: Ever wonder what the first mention of D&D sucking online in a public forum was? Well, here at the Squid's Corner, we can help you out. Thanks to Google, we have the full text of the first time the global network was turned against a TSR product:

Now, the really amusing things to note here are the absolute lack of an @ sign anywhere. Back in '82, we didn't have that fancy Internet-address style yet. We had UUCP bang-paths, and we liked it, gawddammit. Note that the path goes through decvax, one of the most famous machines on the early UseNet. Note that Google converted the header from B-News. B-News! These days even C-News is getting long in the tooth -- B is positively Sumerian. The code's written in cuneiform. Finally, notice the most crucial point: the arts of flaming and trolling still haven't improved much in nearly twenty years.

Now, don't you feel enlightened?

Sic Transitum: Slowly, ever so slowly, I'm closing on ripping more and more of my music collection. Those with online access to it should check it out every couple days. There are ever more fun bits.

Druuuuuuugs:
What Drug are You?

(Apparently, I, too, am cocaine. As drugs go, not a bad call. I'm not innately trippy enough to be LSD.)

Nazgul:

Which Ringwraith are You?
By Lisa

(Hardly surprising. The head that wears the crown is heavy indeed.)

Zombies: Ugh ... I'm trying to recouperate from 10+ hours of very heavy sleep. My poor, poor brain ...
