I’ve made a few changes to the way Operation BSU’s shows are being put together and presented. It’s actually a pretty heavy-duty structural changes that codifies more than we used to, so go and read it on the BSU community and give me your comments.

Show suggestions are always welcome, and I’m really trying to find a sweeter spot to attract more listeners regularly, both live and via download.

First step is to cut the length of the show back hard. Second is to mix the voices up during the segments up better. I’m hoping I get time to produce new segment bumpers which are topic-related more than Anchor-related before Sunday.

There are times I wonder if I don’t put too much thought into this.

Most podcasts need to cut the length, as most of them are made by people who don't understand that their own heavy breathing and laughing at in-jokes does not really convey information, and does not really amuse more than their four subscribers.

Having not actually LISTENED to your cast, mostly because I have insufficient time/brain to focus on it, I can say with confidence that I still don't think you do these things, as you are more professional than that. I suspect you still rant about things that nobody else cares about, but then that's what podcasts are FOR.

My one experience with participatory podcasting was when I "typed in" a question to Mercedes Lackey on one of Chris Meadows' talkshoe casts. I was less than thrilled by the whole thing; she flippantly dismissed my question with an utterly incorrect response, and I wasn't given the chance to reply. And Chris is one of the more careful casters among the fangeek factions.

So, I suspect that putting segment bumpers together - anything that will minimize the chance for awkward and stupid, which means, reducing the live airtime - is not overthinking. Not even a little.
